Finally, I’m on the last post for our Isla Gigantes, Iloilo trip last May.
The last stop in our island hopping adventure in Isla Gigantes was Bantigue Sandbar. According to our guide, it’s best visited late in the afternoon during low tide so you can see the actual sandbar.

True enough, when we reached the place at around 5pm, the sandbar was there in all its glory. Roughly shaped like a letter S, the sandbar is pretty long and wide than the average. However, its sand is more on the coarse side and not that white either. Ate Gilda, our guide, said though that the sandbar used to be really white before Typhoon Yolanda damaged the place.
Though the sandbar is not that striking compared with others, I still loved the fact that there’s a sandbar in the island. It was nice to see it jutting out in a sexy shape from what seemed like a residential area.
What I loved about it too was its beach, which was also very clear. In fact, I think it was the best area for swimming among the other islands we visited because there are no corals, rocks or plants underneath so you can simply relax in the waters.

We actually stayed there for a while, or at least until the sandbar was already disappearing. 😀
Next post: Our first day in Cebu City + Skywalk Adventure 🙂
